I was so nervous. I had no idea that in the future I would put on two student concerts in one day, on the same day as performing one-off woman musical theatre shows. As I write that I wonder how on earth I did that!???
I also wrote this blog – click here – the night after the concert. I particularly loved reading the comments below the blog.
After this first concert I organised yearly student concerts until 2017 when I set up and ran a monthly cabaret style night with an open mic, piano based karaoke in the second half with Iain Jackson (who is going to be accompanying us at the 2022 concert). This was fab but took a lot of time and effort so I didn’t run the student concerts whilst I was offering this opportunity. I did however plan to run a student concert in 2020. We all know what happened in 2020 so this year’s concert is the first vocalist concert in 5 years!!!!
THE NEXT VOCALIST CONCERT 2022!
If you’re a current student with me you must know that the next vocalist concert is on 27th November, at The Station In Kings Heath because I have reminded you SO MANY TIMES!
It is an opportunity for anyone who has lessons with me to share a song in a safe environment, with the help of a pianist, on a lovely stage with friends and family present to support them.
